This Award celebrates innovative R&D that showcases strong Industry and Academic collaboration. Winners must demonstrate “World beating” technology development with very high potential of being adopted by industry.
This year’s winner was chosen for their collaborative work on a miniaturised sensor module to help flight control for ‘CubeSats’ – the next generation of small satellites.
The project, involving Imperial College and NewSpace Systems, is an excellent example of what can be achieved when universities and industry collaborate. The work demonstrates that the UK has both the industrial and academic strength in electronic systems to be a key player in Space technologies.
